Packing it in

Post by bobsnicholson »

The last months i have considerd packing in the bike altogether.
What made it even more likely is a drive up to Blackburn on the M6, M62, M65 last week.
We all know just how bad these roads are with pot holes. Well some are so bad i was thinking, if i was following a car and there was a bad hole and i was slow to react i could be thrown off if i went down it, well it happend twice on the motorway. I was driving (of course car) at about 60 not too close to the car in front, he just missed the pot hole (yes on the motorway) and i hit it with a bang.
Had i been on the bike...........who knows. Then a similar incident on the way back.
I don't like it.

Don't remember the pot holes being as bad as this year, some are like quarries.
Maybe a 3 wheeler like a Can Am. :D

Biking and the Idea of getting out there does seem to pose many questions.... especially in the wetter and colder months..... I'm a few years younger than you but I have to question the wisdom of every two wheeled trip nowadays...... I don't blame you at all Bob..... It's 15 degrees here today in Yeovil and I just uncovered the Grom and Tuono with a view to going for a little blat... but the voices were telling me to be patient and wait till the Spring...... Those Cam-Ams worry me though..... When your two wheels are in-line, you can easily pick a route through the Potholes but the Can-ams just make it much more difficult.... plus, I saw a bunch of Bikers yesterday and the last one was on a White Can-am and his off side wheel was well over the double white lines.... and he just looked odd.......
Ok, I confess.......

Not the cold and or rain so much now but the worry of being thrown off having hit a pot hole. It hurts more the older you get :(
Wont get a Can Am but i do think they look cool.

There were several Can-ams at the bike show yesterday. They seem to attract a certain type of person and none of them looked like you, Bob :)
